Exhibition at Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre 2022

I have not blogged my Exhibition participation with three other artists Robyn Clout, Liz Clout and Sharon Anderson at Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre in 2022. It was a wonderful experience and the large gallery space was amazing. My pieces are shown below.

More Fabric Postcards

I have just posted a new set of postcards to my friends in New Zealand.  Enjoyed doing the hand stitching at our Quilt Retreat at Boonah Queensland.  I used my hand dyed fabric for the cards.

Back - Catch up on Work

I have been away for a long time and thought I would share photographs of some of the work I have done in the interim.  Some of my capsule work for my Open College of the Arts unit A Texile Vocabulary which I passed in December 2017. Experimenting with recycled shirts and embellishments. I procion dyed the original white shirts and added cutout work type embellishment.

Postcards for my postcard swap to New Zealand.

More to come.

Indigo Dyeing

i have started doing experiments with natural dyes. I decided to use natural indigo and the 123 method of preparing a vat. I prepared a mini vat in a large bottle and dyed cotton pieces, silk pieces, watercolour paper and cotton threads. I was really happy with the result as I have not prepared this type of vat before.

I took a photo of my results using the various fibres.  I plan to use the pieces to make a Dye Journal and to do some boro type stitching.

cheers
